Homemade Recipe (Zobo Drink/Hibiscus Drink)

Zobo, also known as hibiscus leaf or sorrel flower, is a dried form of leaf (roselle plant). It is readily available in market. Zobo is a pleasant and medicinal drink which is widely available and at reasonable price.

Drinking Zobo has numerous health benefits. It has even been shown in some trials to aid with weight loss and the reduction of hypertension.

 

Ingredients

1. 50g dried Zobo leaves (Hibiscus)

2. 1 Pineapple cut into chunks

3. 1 Orange cut into segments

4. AACE Foods Cloves Powder

5. AACE Foods Ginger Powder

6. 2-3 Sugar cube size to taste.

 

Procedure

1. Rinse the zobo leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt.

2. In a saucepan, combine the zobo leaves and the remaining ingredients (excluding the sugar) and bring to a boil for 15 minutes.

3. Steep the zobo for 2-4 hours, depending on how much time you have available.

4. Strain the contents using the thinnest sieve possible (you have to get rid of any settlements).

5. Allow zobo to cool before serving chilled or with a lemon or lime garnish.
